Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has announced Artisan Grade IV Recruitment 2027 under Advertisement No. 01/2026. According to the recruitment notification, a total of 660 tentative vacancies are available across nine manufacturing units in India.

Manufacturing Units and Job Locations
The recruitment covers the following BHEL units:
- Boiler Auxiliaries Plant (BAP) – Ranipet, Tamil Nadu
- Heavy Plates and Vessels Plant (HPVP) – Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh
- Electronics Division (EDN) – Bengaluru, Karnataka
- Solar Business Division (SBD) – Bengaluru, Karnataka
- Heavy Electrical Equipment Plant (HEEP) – Haridwar, Uttarakhand
- Heavy Power Equipment Plant (HPEP) – Hyderabad, Telangana
- Heavy Electrical Plant (HEP) – Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh
- Transformer Plant (TP) – Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh
- High Pressure Boiler Plant (HPBP) – Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu
Candidates can apply for vacancies in only one manufacturing unit and one trade.
Educational Qualification
Candidates must possess the following qualifications as of 1 October 2026:
- Class 10 pass.
- National Trade Certificate (NTC/ITI) in the relevant trade.
- National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) in the relevant trade.
- Minimum marks in both NTC/ITI and NAC: 60% for General and OBC candidates, and 55% for SC/ST candidates.
Only full-time regular courses are considered. The notification also specifies certain provisions for ex-servicemen claiming trade equivalency.
Age Limit
The upper age limit for General and EWS candidates is 27 years as of 1 October 2026.
Age relaxation specified in the notification includes:
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years
- Persons with benchmark disabilities: 10 years for General, 13 years for OBC (NCL), and 15 years for SC/ST
- Ex-servicemen and other eligible categories: as per applicable rules
Relevant work experience may provide age relaxation of up to seven years, subject to the notification’s conditions. The maximum age, including applicable relaxations, is 56 years as of 1 October 2026.
Salary and Pay Scale
Selected candidates will initially work as Temporary Artisans for one year and receive consolidated wages of ₹24,000 per month.
Selection Process
The selection process consists of two stages:
Stage 1: Computer-Based Examination (CBE)
Stage 2: Document Verification and Skill Test
Shortlisted candidates must undergo document verification and complete the skill test. The skill test is qualifying in nature. The final merit order will be prepared based on the CBE score of candidates who meet the eligibility and skill-test requirements.

- SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-servicemen: ₹472, including the stated processing fee and GST.
