DRDO RCI Recruitment 2027: 195 Apprentice Vacancies, Eligibility, Selection Process and Apply Online
The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), through its Research Centre Imarat (RCI), Hyderabad, has invited online applications from eligible Indian nationals for 195 Apprentice Training vacancies for 2027.
The recruitment is being conducted for Graduate Apprentices, Technician Apprentices and ITI Trade Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961, as amended.
Selected candidates will undergo one year of apprenticeship training at Research Centre Imarat, Hyderabad.

Educational Qualification
1. Graduate Apprentice
Candidates must possess a B.E./B.Tech qualification in any of the following disciplines:
- Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE)
- Instrumentation Engineering
- Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE)
- Computer Science Engineering (CSE)
- Mechanical Engineering
- Chemical Engineering
- Metallurgical Engineering
- Safety Engineering
- Aeronautical Engineering
- Aerospace Engineering
- Civil Engineering
2. Technician Apprentice (Diploma)
Candidates must possess a Diploma in any of the following disciplines:
- Electronics and Communication Engineering
- Instrumentation Engineering
- Electrical and Electronics Engineering
- Computer Science Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Chemical Engineering
- Metallurgical Engineering
- Safety Engineering
3. Trade Apprentice (ITI)
Candidates must have passed ITI in the relevant trade with NCVT/SCVT affiliation.
Eligible trades include:
- Fitter
- Welder
- Turner
- Machinist
- Mechanic Diesel
- Electronic Mechanic
- Electrician
- COPA (Computer Operator and Programming Assistant)
- Draughtsman Engineering (Mechanical)
- Grinder
Age Limit
Candidates must be at least 18 years old as of 1 September 2026.
Minimum Marks
Only regular candidates who secured the following marks in their qualifying examinations are eligible:
- Minimum 70% marks; or
- CGPA of 7.5 and above.
The qualifying examination must have been completed in 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 or 2026.
Stipend
The stipend will be provided as per Government norms, with reference to the Gazette notification dated 3 September 2025.
Important: Graduate and Technician Apprentices must have an Aadhaar-seeded bank account to receive 50% of their stipend from the Board of Apprenticeship and Training (BOAT) under the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) scheme.
Selection Process
The selection process will be based on:
- Academic merit.
- Interview, if required.
- Document verification.
